Malden Teenager 1 Of 5 Juveniles Arrested At Panera Bread In Boston

The group was reportedly causing a disturbance at the restaurant throughout the day.

MALDEN, MA — A female resident was one of five teenagers arrested at a Panera Bread in the neighborhood of Dorchester this week, according to the Boston Police Department.

The 15-year-old has officially been charged with trespassing, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest as a result of the incident. Officers arrived at the location at 8 Allstate Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23. The manager of the restaurant pointed out the juveniles to the responding officers and said they had been causing a disturbance. Officers told the teens that the employees wanted them to leave the premises and they walked out. However, soon after leaving they reportedly reentered the business almost immediately. Police then returned to the group and detained all five of them. According to police, one of the four young women in the group then stood up and shoved an officer.

“As additional officers attempted to take the female suspect into custody, she began to actively resist, thrashing her body, screaming, and locking her arms in an effort to prevent arrest. The suspect’s actions led to chaos erupting among the rest of the group resulting in flipped tables, screaming, and fighting with officers,” the department said in a statement. “The suspects refused to comply with officers’ commands to place their hands behind their back, with one suspect shoving and kicking officers, while another threw a table at officers. Two other suspects were placed under arrest without further incident.”
