A $1.2 million bond, which would go toward reconstructing or replacing, Medford High School’s swimming pool will go before City Council tonight, according to the agenda.

The pool, which has been closed since 2008, received $2.4 million in funding last year from the council – a $1.9 million bond and $400,000 in insurance settlement money.

However, the cost and scope of the project has increased since then, councilors heard last week.

The pool would have some public time, and not just be used by students.

The council meets at 7 p.m. tonight in City Hall’s Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium.
