Topic is Peacefield: 1788-1818, the New England Farm of John and Abigail Adams. In 1787 John Adams purchased a piece of land that he named Piecefield, and which he and Abigail farmed and added to for the next 30 years until it encompassed over 600 acres of land in present day Quincy ad Braintree. Laurie Ellen Pazzano, a 2011 graduate of the Landscape Institute, will explore and uncover for us this late 18th century farm. You will be inspired to take the short trip to Quincy to view the house, garden, and orchards, which are maintained by the National Park Service as part of the Adams National Historical Park. Free and open to the public.
