Dr. Stuart Brorson will speak on the architecture and history of this iconic New England housing style. Brorson will tell the story of how New England progressives rallied against the three decker, and passed laws aimed to prohibit their construction. He will also talk about the colorful personalities involved with the three-decker question, including Medford's progressive Mayor Charles Taylor, who successfully fought to ban three-decker construction in Medford.
