Medford Candlelight Vigil March 22
Medford coming together to celebrate lives that have been lost to the disease of addiction.

(Medford) On March 22nd, from 5-7pm, Medford Overcoming Addiction in partnership with the City of Medford and Medford Families Anonymous will be holding a candle light vigil in memory of those who have passed due to addiction. This event will take place at Medford City Hall Council Chambers. The vigil is an opportunity for Medford to come together to celebrate lives that have been lost to the disease of addiction, give some hope, and help those who have lost a love one to heal. Equally important, this event is to raise awareness, educate, and help break the stigma.
The vigil includes speakers from Medford who are now in recovery Brendan Daddario, Paul Spencer, and families that have been affected by this disease. Matt Ganem, who is in recovery, will read some of his poetry. A NARCAN presentation will be held at the beginning of the vigil (5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) for those who would like to be trained. It is important to honor those lives lost in Medford. Please send a picture of your loved one that has passed to Medfordoa@gmail.com along with their name and date of passing to be included in our vigil.
Additionally, Medford Overcoming Addiction will also be collecting items for Hand Delivered Hope. Items being collected are the following: cases of water, individually packaged snacks, new socks, gloves, rain ponchos, toiletries, and new or gently used backpacks or drawstring bags. If there are other items you would like to donate or if you have any questions about Medford Overcoming Addiction, Hand Delivered Hope, or this event you can email Medfordoa@gmail.com or call Penelope Funaiole at 781-393-2449.
