Medford Man Charged With OUI After Driving Into Pond: PD
The 26-year-old told police he was following the GPS and did not realize the road ended.

MEDFORD, MA — A Medford man was charged with OUI after driving into an Arlington pond, according to police. Officers went to Spy Pond shortly after 1:30 a.m. May 31 and found a car partially submerged about five feet from shore, police said.
There was also extensive damage to the culvert at the end of the street, according to police. Officers spoke with two people standing in the street, who they determined were in the car when it went into the water.
The driver, 26-year-old Daniel Rossetti, of Medford, told police he was driving from Lowell to his father's house when the GPS directed him right onto Gould Road. He said he did not realize the road ended until it was too late, according to the police report.

Rossetti told officers he had not taken any alcohol or drugs but is prescribed Gabapentin and Suboxone, police said. He said it was not his normal route from Lowell to his father's house in Medford and he was not familiar with Arlington, according to police.
Rossetti estimated it took him and his passenger about half an hour to flag someone down to call the police. He was taken into custody, and officers found Suboxone films inside his right shoe and another in his right sock. He was unable to show a prescription, police said.
