Medford Reveals Spring Street Sweeping Schedule
Medford's DPW will sweep secondary roads in 14 zones through May 8.
MEDFORD, MA — The Department of Public Works will begin its spring street sweeping program on Tuesday, April 21, and continue over several weeks across 14 zones in the city. Sweeping will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The city said the spring Big Sweep is intended to clear leaves and debris from streets and catch basins. According to the announcement, that work is done "in the interest of public health and public safety" and is meant to allow for proper drainage of water while keeping streets clean. The DPW conducts two Big Sweep events on all secondary roads each year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
Street sweeping is divided into 14 zones, with one zone scheduled each day:

Parking will still be allowed on main roads from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the spring street sweeping schedule.
