UPDATED: Male Shot on Harvard Street

The incident occurred Tuesday night.

Update, 4:05 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10

One male was shot on Harvard Street Tuesday night, Medford Police Lt. Paul Covino said Wednesday afternoon. He said the shooting does not appear to be a random act and the public should not fear for their safety.

Covino said the investigation is ongoing, and police will release more information when they’re able. He said Medford Police are working with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office on the case.

According to scanner reports, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Harvard and Winchester streets, which is between Boston Avenue and Main Street, near the train tracks. Also, the shooting occurred at about 11:18 p.m., according to scanner reports, 10 minutes before we stated in our initial report.

Residents took to social media at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after hearing what they believed were four to five shots fired on Harvard Street, near Main Street, in Medford.



Medford Police said Wednesday morning a press release would be forthcoming. No other information is available at this time.
