Woman Hit on Head During Street Robbery in South Medford
The robbery occurred early Sunday morning.

A woman was struck on the head from behind by a man on Wareham Street early Sunday morning.
The blow caused her to fall; the man then grabbed her wallet and fled toward Main Street, according to a Tufts police alert.
The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. The woman yelled after being hit and nearby residents came out to assist her.

She was treated by EMTs at the scene and taken home. She described the suspect as a white male, 6-foot-2 or 6-foot-3, in his mid- to late-twenties, wearing light colored jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Medford and Tufts police are increasing patrols in this area, according to the alert.
