NEWTON, MA — A tractor trailer truck crashed on the Massachusetts Turnpike Route 128 Wednesday morning, according to State Police.
Newton firefighters, Troopers from the Weston Barracks, and the MSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section responded to the scene on Interstate 90 West at the 124 mile-marker shortly after 6 a.m. and found the truck off to the right side of the road. A heavy-duty tow was required to remove the truck from the scene, and Trooper Roisin Joyce told Patch that no injuries have been reported in the aftermath of the incident.
“The right lane was temporarily closed to traffic initially. Just before 8 a.m., only the left travel lane was open,” Joyce told Patch. “By noon, all assets were cleared and all lanes were open.”
Joyce added that eastbound traffic was also temporarily affected due to passersby being distracted by the accident.
