• Gov. Healey signs ceremonial hospital bill (norwoodrecord.com) — Norwood residents just moved a big step closer to getting their hospital back, as Gov. Maura Healey came to Norwood Central to ceremonially sign a new eminent-domain law aimed at reopening the long-closed Norwood Hospital. The law pressures the current owner to sell to a nonprofit operator or face a state takeover, after years of residents traveling farther for urgent care.
   

• Brazilian murder suspect wanted by feds arrested after Norwood crash, foot chase (boston25news.com) — Federal agents arrested a man wanted in a Brazilian murder case after a crash and short foot chase on Tremont Street in Norwood Thursday morning. Norwood police handled the crash investigation after the suspect allegedly hit two parked cars while trying to flee. No injuries were reported, and federal authorities took the man into custody for further proceedings.
   

• FRANKLIN: Lawrence John Mudrey (town.news) — A Franklin family is mourning Lawrence "Larry" Mudrey, 75, whose daughter and grandson live in Norwood and shared many coastal New England trips with him. Remembered as a devoted family man, longtime GE employee, volunteer firefighter, and beloved Santa representative for decades, he leaves a legacy of kindness and holiday joy that touched countless children and neighbors.
