- Weymouth Man Killed in Hingham Car Crash - In May, a Weymouth man died after being struck by a boat trailer on Route 3A in Hingham. An investigation indicated that the pedestrian had been standing on the sidewalk near the MBTA Bus and fell or stepped onto the road where he was struck by the trailer that was being towed by a southbound vehicle.
- Police Looking for Man Who Stole Credit Cards and Cash from Weymouth Fitness Center - In March, an unidentified white male entered the locker room area of the Planet Fitness. He was able to open several unsecured lockers, stealing credit cards and car keys. Upon exiting, he used the keys to open several vehicles and took additional cash and credit cards.
- Dead Body Found in Weymouth Cemetery - In November, a man who was reported missing last month was identified as the person whose body was found in Olde Cemetery in Weymouth. Richard Boling, 53, of East Weymouth, was reported missing on Oct. 15. His dead body was discovered by a Weymouth Public Works employee in the cemetery.
- Student Bragging About Weapon Arrested at Weymouth High School - In May, a student boasting about possessing a weapon led to a lockdown at Weymouth High School. Teachers and staff were told to stay put after a classroom of students and a teacher reported that they overheard a student outside of their classroom boasting that he had a weapon on him according to a statement from Weymouth High School principal Peter Haviland.Within minutes, Weymouth police were on the scene and the suspect was located 10 minutes later.
- One Dead in Weymouth Snow Plow Accident - In February, a woman was killed after she was struck by a plow at Tara Gardens on Tara Drive.
- Weymouth Man Charged with Possessing Over 15,000 Child Porn Files - In August, a Weymouth man and former youth soccer coach faced child pornography charges after a search of his apartment by police.James Meagher, 49, was arraigned this week on six counts of possession of child pornography and distributing materials with a nude child. He was ordered held on $30,000 cash bail. If he makes bail, he must be fitted with a GPS device, surrender his passport, can’t use any electronic device with internet access, can’t be near or have contact with anyone under the age of 18, and must comply with all demands from the state Department of Children and Families.
- Boston Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide in Weymouth - In October, police responded to the crash near Middle and Lake Streets. According to Weymouth police, the vehicle, which had four occupants, struck a utility pole. Three people in the car were taken to South Shore Hospital while one person, a 29-year-old from Boston was pronounced dead at the hospital.
- Weymouth Man Charged with Drunken Driving, Hitting Pedestrian - In October, a Weymouth man was arrested after allegedly hitting a person while driving drunk at SouthField.
- Three Arrested in Weymouth for Growing Over 2,500 Marijuana Plants - In April, three men arrested on drug charges after police dismantled a multi-town illegal marijuana operation in Weymouth. During the execution of the search warrants detectives recovered over 2,000 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, approximately $75,000 in cash, 4 vehicles, a stun gun, 3 assault rifles, and 19 other firearms.
- DPW Employee Charged with 4th OUI After Rolling Over Town Truck - In June, a rollover involving a town truck was reported on Front Street. The driver, a DPW employee, was charged with drunken driving.
