Alleged Human Trafficker, Armed Robbers, and Others Indicted: Roundup

Nashua man indicted for second-degree assault, former Concord man indicted in knife attack robbery, and Goffstown man indicted for theft.

MANCHESTER, NH — The following people were indicted recently in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North.

Jamie Smith, 33, of Manchester Street in Manchester, for felony burglary, allegedly on May 27, 2015, in New Boston, at the Route 114 Self Storage facility.

Cornelius C. Stanley, 20, of Lowell Road in Hudson, for felony possession of a controlled drug-cocaine, allegedly on April 16, 2016, in Bedford.

Gladys Then, 19, pictured lower right, of Bell Street in Manchester, for felony witness tampering, for allegedly attempting to induce another to withhold testimony by telling him that “something would happen to him if he did not drop the charges against her,” according to the indictment.

Sergio Torres, 18, of Beech Street in Manchester, for felony burglary, for allegedly entering a locked room in Manchester on Sept. 29, 2016.

Jesse Vajgrt, 24, pictured lower center, of Cross Street in Deering, for felon in possession of a dangerous weapon – a .22 caliber Mossberg rifle – allegedly on Nov. 2, 2016, in Hillsboro.

James R. Ventresca, 63, of Young Street in Manchester, for five counts of forgery and five counts of theft by deception, all felonies, for allegedly cashing checks that did not belong to him in 2016.

Jonathan Vertigans, 32, pictured lower left, a homeless man now located in Manchester and formerly of Concord, for attempted first-degree assault, armed robbery, two counts of second-degree assault, and three counts of falsifying physical evidence, all felonies. In August 2016, in Manchester, allegedly in concert with James Dickson, he allegedly robbed, strangled, cut with a knife, and repeatedly kicked a victim.

Michael Walsh Jr., 25, pictured upper right, of School Street in Goffstown, for two felony counts of theft by unauthorized taking, allegedly on Aug. 3, 2016, in Hillsboro, involving a cellphone and a debit card. He was previously convicted of theft twice before.

Chesley Wohner, 44, pictured upper center, of Jefferson Street in Manchester, for DUI-second offense, resisting arrest or detention, and two felony counts of possession of a controlled drug-cocaine, crack cocaine, allegedly on Aug. 22, and Sept. 21, 2016, in Manchester.

Gregory Worthley, 28, of Laval Street in Manchester, for first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit trafficking in a person. In April and May 2015, he allegedly assaulted another person, recruited and enticed people for trafficking, and rented a hotel room to use for prostitution, according to the indictment.

Randall Young, 53, pictured upper left, of Karatzas Avenue in Manchester, for two counts of felony armed robbery, allegedly on Sept. 13, 2016, at the CVS on Mammoth Road and Mr. Mike’s stores on Wellington Road.

Talal Zafar, 39, of Amherst Street in Nashua, for felony second-degree assault, for allegedly strangling another man on Dec. 26, 2015, in Hillsboro.
