The couple reported money, tools, and a camera missing from the home and stated that they believed the incident occurred on July 9, when they were at a local hospital visiting a family member. During the investigation, one of the victims fingered Vachon as a suspect after reportedly finding a camera case matching the one that was missing the day before when they were in a vehicle – a white Dodge Stratus – with Vachon, according to a court affidavit.

The officer investigated the incident and spoke to a witness who reported the burglar was a tall, white man, with short hair, who allegedly attempted to gain access to the apartment through a back door. The man then allegedly placed both hands on a window and reportedly slid it open. The man then allegedly unlocked the door from the window, according to the witness. Later, the man was seen leaving the home with a small bag in a white sedan.

The investigating officer found handprints on the window which were “larger than a child’s and had little to no dust on them,” according to the report. The window was then sent to the New Hampshire State Police crime lab for analysis.

On April 6, 2015, Concord Police received a report from the state police lab “indicating that the prints found on the window were, in fact, Travis Vachon’s fingerprints.”

An affidavit was issued on Nov. 28, 2017, and Vachon was picked up about a month later.

According to reports on Patch, Vachon has been arrested a number of times during the past few years.

Back in March 2012, Vachon was involved in a rollover crash on I-393 after a road rage incident with his teen girlfriend. NHSP alleged that he “threw something” at her vehicle, smashing the windshield, and sped off. A chase ensued from Main Street in Concord to I-393 where the girl attempted to pass Vachon at a high rate of speed, lost control of her vehicle, and flipped it over.

Vachon was arrested in May 2013, on two active bench warrants for reckless operation and endangering the welfare of a child and incompetent. At the time, he was living in Penacook. He was also arrested again on a warrant in October 2013, for reckless operation and nonpayment of fines.

In Oct. 8, 2014, he was charged with drunk driving after smashing into a tree on East Side Drive. Five days later, he was arrested again in Concord for loitering, felony possession of controlled drugs, and default or breach of bail conditions charges – while reportedly sleeping in a Fisherville Road apartment laundry room. He was allegedly in possession of a pocket knife, hypodermic needles, as well as cotton swabs and a spoon with heroin residue on them, according to a report.

Vachon – who was living on Garvins Falls Road at the time – was arrested in Concord on warrant out of Franklin District Court in December 2014, for felony possession of controlled drugs after a theft at a Washington Street store. Police found him on a White Park bench, according to a report.

Vachon was arrested again in mid-June 2016, on a felony drug charge, for allegedly possessing heroin. He was arrested by Laconia Police on a Concord warrant.
