CONCORD, NH – Jason T. Cooper, 30, pictured, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 2:01 p.m. on May 24, 2016, for felony sale of controlled drugs-heroin and theft by deception. The drug dealing charge stems from an alleged incident on Jan. 22, 2016, at the Rite Aid on South Street; the theft charge stemmed from an alleged incident on Manchester Street on Jan. 26, 2016. Officers were sent to the Morning Star Apartments on Loudon Road for a report that Cooper, who had active warrants, might have been in one of the apartments. The tipster told the reporting officer which apartment Cooper might be in and officers went to speak with him. No one reportedly responded to the officers knocking on the door but they found that the door was unlocked. When a second officer partially opened the door, they allegedly found Cooper in the middle of a room walking back from the door and a woman ducking behind a door. The officers confirmed that neither person was armed and then advised Cooper that he had warrants. “Cooper stated he was unaware of the warrant,” the officer alleged, “(but) remained cooperative at the scene.” The woman and Cooper were also served with no trespass orders for the apartment. He’s due in court on July 11.

Officers were sent to the Pitman Street Apartments for a domestic incident. They also warned of universal precautions against McCarthy for assaults against police. When they arrived, they announced themselves and a male voice allegedly yelled, “F--- off!” and “Leave!” A woman, however, was ordering the male to open the door, and that he would get her evicted, but he allegedly told the woman, “No,” and refused to open the door. The woman later opened the door and they spoke with her about the incident. She denied that there was an assault but alleged that the male – McCarthy – wouldn’t let her open the apartment door so he was arrested. “Due to McCarthy's level of intoxication, I placed him into Protective Custody,” the officer reported. “He was medically cleared at Concord Hospital and released at the Merrimack County Jail.”
