Here are some fantastic holiday light displays on homes in Concord, from the South End to Penacook, West Concord and the West End, too.

CONCORD, NH — Not unlike 2021, I’m a little late with the best Christmas light displays in the city of Concord and the village of Penacook video.

I don’t know what it is about this year, but I just haven’t been in the Christmas spirit of late. It’s not bah humbug or anything. It might be because I didn’t watch “It’s A Wonderful Life” Thanksgiving weekend.

In fact, I haven’t watched it at all … even though I have it on DVD. Shame.

But if it isn’t, don’t worry. This video has some of the best displays in the city. A lot of the regulars put up their fabulous displays. But there were some new ones, too.

And, I know, I missed a lot. I ran out of time (I didn’t even get a chance to check out the North End, which always has cool lights).

Need a quick tour? Here’s how I got this year’s displays.

First, I got a tip that there were some pretty good displays on Carter Hill Road. So, I started on Thackeray Road, then went to Carter Hill Road, checked out the lights on the homes on the Contoocook River, and then headed to Elm Street.

The sugar shack was not a disappointment again this year — a ton of lights on trees and deep into the woods. Well worth the ride up there. There were a lot of great displays all along Elm Street into Boscawen.

From there, drive south on Village Street and check out the superb display on Snow Street. Then, I headed over to the other mainstays in the area — the Alice Drive complex, the Moores’ home on Borough Road, and then the Primrose Lane complex, which also had a lot of great displays (as they do every year). On Winterberry Lane, a family was offering free hot chocolate (I put a $4 tip in the kitty).

From there, it was over to "the governor’s complex" — Gallen Drive and Peterson Circle, which also had great displays this year.

I then took the long way over to Pembroke Road, specifically, a leisurely drive on Mountain Road and East Side Drive, where there were a lot of nice displays.

Off Pembroke Road, check out Robinson Street for three excellent displays there.

After that, it was over to the South End, checking out displays on Broadway, Rockingham, Donovan, Carter, and Kimball streets. A quick trek through South Street and over to the great house on Monroe Street.

After that, it was time to head home. But not before checking out the five homes on Warren Street near Concord High School as well as displays on Auburn, Liberty, and Ridge Road. After hitting Samuel Drive and Pond Place Lane, it was back down to the park area.

Last stop? The crèche at the corner of Franklin and Liberty streets. Saying goodnight to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.

Enjoy!
