CONCORD, NH — A woman from Epsom was arrested on Saturday morning after a chase that started in Lebanon and ended with a standoff in Warner, New Hampshire State Police.
Around 8:30 a.m., troopers learned about a driver who fled from cops in Lebanon after they attempted a traffic stop. A chase ensued between police at the driver of a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, identified later as Dawn Marquis, 55, of Epsom. Lebanon police discontinued the chase after she began driving south on I-89, state police said.
Later, a Grantham police officer located the vehicle and attempted another stop, however, Marquis was accused of refusing to stop. Troopers joined the chase shortly after, according to a report.
Troopers and police deployed tire deflation devices, which deflated at least one of the Jeep's tires, but Marquis continued driving, they said. She eventually stopped near Exit 9 in Warner but refused to get out of the vehicle, state police said. Troopers shut down the highway to resolve the incident.
Troopers and officers attempted to communicate with her and encouraged her to surrender peacefully, state police said, but she again refused to exit the vehicle.
The State Police Crisis Negotiation Unit was requested to assist and, eventually, she exited the vehicle, but continued to resist efforts to take her into custody, a report stated. A K-9 unit was deployed and she was placed under arrest for felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer and resisting arrest, and violations of reckless operation and operating without a valid driver's license
Marquis was taken to the hospital later for evaluation. She was scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough District Court on Monday.
Troopers were assisted by members of the Grantham and Hopkinton police departments, as well as the Warner and Hopkinton fire departments. No booking photo was available. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Brandon Stubbs at 603-223-4381 or brandon.a.stubbs@dos.nh.gov.

New Hampshire Cold Case Unit Renews Appeal In 1977 Killing Of Shari Roth
Police across the state are conducting an impaired driving enforcement campaign running through the Labor Day weekend, with drivers advised to expect increased patrols on roads, according to state police.
The national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign is led by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and coordinated in New Hampshire by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety. The effort began Aug. 19 and will continue through the Labor Day holiday weekend. About 120 law enforcement agencies throughout the state have been invited to participate, including state troopers, county deputies and local police officers.
"We partner with law enforcement to execute these campaigns because they save lives," NHOHS Program Manager John Clegg said. "By joining these efforts, we're reinforcing a shared commitment to protecting everyone who uses our roads. We're deeply grateful to the dedicated members of law enforcement who carry out this work every day."
New Hampshire State Police Capt. Vincent Grieco said drivers should think beyond the legal consequences of getting behind the wheel while impaired.
"If you choose to drive impaired, you're risking far more than an arrest," Grieco said. "The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign is about protecting lives. We're asking everyone to plan, make responsible choices, and help ensure that every driver and passenger gets home safely."
As of Aug. 17, 62 people have been killed in crashes around New Hampshire. Alcohol, drugs, or both were determined to be factors in 83 deadly crashes in 2024 and claimed 93 lives. Data for 2025 and 2026 is pending.
For drivers heading out during the holiday period, the message from state officials is straightforward: plan ahead, avoid impaired driving and expect police to be watching.

A man from Groton was arrested on Aug. 12, accused of burglary in Hebron, according to state police.
Angelo Fiaschetti, 30, of Groton, was accused of going door-to-door on Pine Top Lane while driving a Kia Soul. As troopers responded, they received another report that the suspect was seen on Valley View Road approaching homes and was suspected of stealing property. On Hobart Hill Road, troopers caught up with Fiaschetti and detained him.
A preliminary investigation determined that Fiaschetti had been on several properties in the area and at one point unlawfully entered a home, a report stated. State police also reported that troopers learned Fiaschetti was currently out on bail stemming from a previous arrest by the Tilton Police Department. Fiaschetti was arrested on a felony charge of burglary, a misdemeanor charge of theft by unauthorized taking, multiple misdemeanor counts of criminal trespassing, and multiple violations of prowling/loitering. He was held on preventive detention and transported to the Grafton County Jail.
State police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact Trooper Joseph Leva at 603-846-3333 or joseph.j.leva@dos.nh.gov.
