Concord 2019 City, School Election: Very Low Turnout Citywide

Breaking: Turnout in all but one ward is trending below normal levels in Concord despite competitive races and school board turmoil.

CONCORD, NH — With less than two hours until the polls close, turnout in all but one ward of the city is trending below normal 15 percent levels, according to a sampling of the 10 wards across Concord. The only ward that is trending above normal levels is Ward 1, covering Penacook and the northwest part of the city. At 3 p.m., with four hours left to vote, 306 people had cast ballots or 9.1 percent – 12 more voters than cast ballots in 2017.

Both Kevin Miller and Brent Todd, who were standing at the polls, were pleased the village voters were coming out to participate.

In other wards across the city, turnout was trending below normal – anywhere from 5.6 to 12.9 percent. The polls will be open until 7 p.m.

Ward 2: West Congregational Church, 499 N. State St.

Ward 3: Beaver Meadow Golf Course Club House, 1 Beaver Meadow St. (off Sewalls Falls Road).

Ward 4: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Concord, 55 Bradley St.

Ward 5: Green Street Community Center, 39 Green St.

Ward 6: St. John's Activity Center (St. John's Church), Thorndike Street Entrance.

Ward 7: West Street Ward House, 41 West St.

Ward 8: Bektash Temple, 189 Pembroke Road.

Ward 9: Havenwood, 33 Christian Avenue.

Ward 10: Broken Ground School, 51 S. Curtisville Road.
