Concord Child Rapist Pleads Guilty To Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor
After attacking a man with a hammer in July 2019, police uncovered evidence Jerry Roberts had videos of a child engaging in sexual conduct.

CONCORD, NH — A convicted child rapist will probably be heading back to prison after pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.
Jerry S. Roberts Jr., 37, was charged by Concord police after an incident in July 2019, where he attacked a man with a hammer at a Fisherville Road apartment complex. During the attack, the victim jumped from an apartment window to escape the incident and was taken to Concord Hospital. Police gained forced entry to the apartment and found Roberts as well as a minor hiding inside.
Roberts had an active warrant for a duty to report charge and parole violation and was arrested.

Concord police refused to release information about the incident for about a month, due to suspicions they had about Roberts. He was charged later with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and criminal liability for the conduct of another, all felonies, as well as resisting arrest or detention.
But more charges would be forwarded later by the police.

The victim of the assault, according to court documents, said Roberts and the minor had left personal property in their apartment. After obtaining search warrants, detectives found electronics, including a digital camera, and identified two videos Roberts filmed depicting the minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Roberts is expected to be sentenced in August.
“It is a paramount obligation of law enforcement to protect children from sexual exploitation crimes,” said U.S. Attorney Jane Young. “Thus, my office is committed to working closely with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute the criminals who prey on young children.”
Homeland Security Investigations assisted Concord police with the case.
Roberts, according to the state of New Hampshire, was convicted on a sexual assault charge as well as two simple assault charges in October 2004, in Rockingham County and two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault on a victim under 16 in September 2008, in Belknap County. Between 2004 and 2017, he has been convicted of violation of terms, possession of drugs, witness tampering, second-degree assault charges, reckless conduct, stalking, domestic violence, and both duty to report and failure to comply. Roberts was a Fugitive of the Week in February 2017, due to a parole violation. He was arrested three months later in Lebanon hiding under a bed in an apartment.
