Concord Man, Others Injured After Belmont Chase, Crash In Tilton

5 people were injured during a Laconia Road head-on crash. Cops say a car was stolen from Londonderry; the driver drove more than 100 mph.

TILTON, NH — No arrests have been made yet after a multi-community stolen car incident that led to a chase that reached more than 100 mph and a head-on crash on Laconia Road in Tilton on Wednesday.

Around 8:45 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to an accident on Laconia Road-Route 3 just west of Mosquito Bridge. According to Tilton Police Chief Corey Piser, a 2021 Toyota Camry, which was later found to be stolen from Londonderry, was driving at more than 100 mph before it crashed head-on into a 2015 Audi. Before the crash, the Camry had been chased by Belmont police before officers ended their pursuit, she said.

“The Toyota then briefly entered and exited Sanbornton, before crashing in Tilton,” Piser said.

The Camry crossed over a concrete median while driving west crossing into the eastbound lane near the road’s intersection with Bay Road.

Chad Glodgett, 39, of Concord was identified as the driver of the Toyota at the time of the crash, according to Piser. Also injured in the crash were Trevor Glodgett, 41, of Pittsfield and Alexa Robichaud, 31, of Tilton.

No charges have been filed in the case, she said, but after the investigation has been completed, they will be.

The driver of the Audi was identified as Steven St. Laurent, 61, of Meredith. Cathy Bisbano, 58, of Meredith was a passenger in the vehicle, according to police.

All five were injured during the crash and taken to area hospitals.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the occupants of the Camry from the vehicle. Firefighters and EMTs from around the Lakes Region responded to assist with the call, according to scanner chatter.

“Driver impairment is believed to be a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing,” Piser said in a statement. “The Belknap Regional Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is assisting with the investigation.”

The roadway was closed for around five hours.

Chad Glodgett has a lengthy criminal history having been arrested during the past 20 years on motor vehicle theft, habitual offender, reckless conduct, drug possession, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, resisting, and other charges, according to superior court records. He was involved in a crash in East Concord back in 2017 after a vehicle was stolen from Chichester that led to chases and accidents.

Robichaud, according to court records, has an active drug possession case out of Concord from February and a drug conviction out of Derry from April 2020.
