Concord Log: Cookie Monster Used as Weapon in Fight Over TV Remote

Plus, teen busted with meth, pot pipes; overdose on North State Street leads to felony charge; elderly driver arrested for DWI.

Shara Ashley, 26, of Fisherville Road in Concord, was arrested at 5:27 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2014, on a criminal mischief charge. Officers were sent to a domestic in an apartment on Fisherville Road. The man alleged that he and his “baby mama” were staying with his current girlfriend, Ashley, but that the two women had been arguing and Ashley asked them to leave. The man gathered up all their things to leave but Ashley allegedly ripped up a custom made shirt he received as a gift from her. The man, a neighbor who was helping facilitate the move, and the other woman, all denied anything physical happened. Police spoke with Ashley who allegedly admitted to cutting up the shirt. She reportedly stated that since she gave him the shirt, she could destroy it. An officer later explained that once a person gives a gift, it is no longer their property to destroy. Ashley also alleged that the she had been threatened via text message but an officer eyed them and determined that none where threatening in nature. She also complained that nail polish was thrown on her bed. The shirt was later taken out of the trash and revealed to have several cuts and was destroyed, according to the reporting officer, so she was arrested. Another person stayed with her three children after she was taken into custody. Ashley is due in court on Feb. 2.

Devin A. Baille, 37, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 12:16 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2014, on a bench warrant. Officers were sent to the area of the Concord Family YMCA for a report of an intoxicated man walking in the middle of the street. They found Baille and checked to see if he had active warrants and he did, for nonappearance in court on a disorderly conduct charge from Dec. 23, 2014. He was arrested and held without bail.

Daniel Ventura, 18, of Primrose Lane in Concord, was arrested at 9:08 p.m. on Dec. 26, for possession of drugs and possession of controlled drugs. An officer saw a Chevrolet Lumina traveling at a high rate of speed on High and Allen streets and pulled it over on Village Street. The officer spoke to the driver, Ventura, and alleged that there was “an overwhelming odor of marijuana” coming from inside the car. When asked if there were drugs in the car, Ventura allegedly laughed and said, “No,” but later, pulled open the glove compartment revealing a pipe, sandwich bag, and burnt marijuana cigarettes. He was arrested but reportedly showed no signs of impairment. Ventura is due in court on Feb. 2.

Zachary J. Bauer, 21, of Salisbury Street in Salisbury, was arrested at 9:19 p.m. on Dec. 25, on a felony warrant and for operating without a valid license. A check on a Cadillac on North Main Street yielded an alert about the owner, Bauer, having a felony burglary warrant out of Hillsboro. He was stopped outside the Statehouse and arrested. Bauer, according to the report, was convicted of operating without a valid license in June 2014. His license expired in February 2014. He’s due in court on Feb. 2.

Robert V. Aliberti, 17, of Gates Street in Concord, was arrested at 10:03 a.m. on Dec. 24, on three counts of possession of controlled drugs, two that were felonies, and a carry/sell weapons (switch blades, etc.) charge. An officer saw a man near the Morning Star Apartments on Loudon Road who “looked suspicious” and appeared to be “looking through the contents of a vehicle.” The officer went to speak to the man, later identified as Aliberti, and he allegedly “appeared confused and did not respond,” while later appearing “nervous and visibly shaking.” The front passenger of the vehicle interjected and said they were there to visit his cousin. Aliberti, the officer alleged, kept putting his hands in his pockets and later, reached into the vehicle, making the officer nervous. He was told to stop and did while other officers arrived. Aliberti allegedly admitted to having a weapon, a set of brass knuckles, in his pocket. “Aliberti seemed more nervous after I removed the brass knuckles from his pocket,” the officer alleged. The officer continued to question the two men about why they were in the parking lot while it was raining but they didn’t answer. He refused to consent to a search of the vehicle but later, allegedly admitted to having a glass methamphetamine pipe in his jacket pocket and he was arrested. Police later allegedly found lorazepam in his jacket pocket, marijuana, a metal grinder, two marijuana cigarettes, needles in the glove box, two pipes with burnt marijuana, two pipes with meth residue, and a glass container with white residue. The other man was taken into protective custody due to his age and two girls in the rear of the vehicle were released from the scene. He’s due in court on Feb. 2.

Jodi Lynn Bye, 43, of Walker Street in Concord, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. on Dec. 23, on a felony theft by unauthorized taking or transfer charge from Sears on Loudon Road reportedly involving more than $583 worth of clothes and jewelry. Bye, the report noted, “had a lengthy criminal record for fraud, forgery, thefts, and bad checks,” including two previous convictions, so the charge was elevated to a felony. Bye is due in court on Feb. 2.

Francis Barbrie, 64, of Warren Street in Concord, was arrested at 10:18 p.m. on Dec. 21, on two counts of driving while intoxicated. Police received a tip about an elderly man who was slurring his words and seemed tired at the Boloco on Fort Eddy Road. The check of the vehicle came back to Barbrie and police headed to his home in the Firehouse Block. Two officers saw the vehicle parked with its lights on, its engine running, and the radio blaring. Barbrie allegedly admitted to driving and smelled like alcohol. His eyes were also reportedly glossy and bloodshot. He agreed to a field sobriety test and was arrested. The reporting officer alleged that he exhibited “several mood swings” while in custody and during processing.

Jacob M. Bouchard, 20, a homeless man from Concord, was arrested at 6:36 p.m. on Dec. 19, on a warrant for violation of probation, $10,000 cash bail. Bouchard was arrested on South State Street after police were sent there on a tip that he might be at the residence and in possession of a handgun. Police called ahead of time to arrange his exit from the residence but were told by other people leaving the home that he had already reportedly left out of the side of the building. Another officer at the scene allegedly saw Bouchard jump a fence into another yard, in an attempt to get away. The reporting officer later saw him walking away from the home and was taken into custody. Bouchard was held without bail.

Danielle M. Dow, 29, of Laurel Lane in New London, received a summons at 11:52 p.m. on Dec. 18, for driving after revocation or suspension after a traffic stop in a blue minivan without its headlights illuminated on Loudon Road. Her license was suspended on Nov. 23, 2014, for default agreement.

Jeffrey Hall, 27, of South State Street in Concord, was arrested at 1 p.m. on Dec. 17, on a bench warrant on a resisting arrest charge from Dec. 9, 2014. He was arrested after a traffic stop on Water Street for an equipment violation.

Kyle Kiffen, 23, of Forest Road in Northfield, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, on a warrant from the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office out of Concord District Court, $1,000 cash bail to pay for child support. He was arrested at the Subway at Walmart on Loudon Road.

Trevor Daniel Theriault, 17, of Storrs Street in Concord, was arrested at 5:26 p.m. on Dec. 16, for simple assault. A sergeant and officer were sent to the Mennino Place Apartments for a domestic between half brothers, according to an arrest report and court affidavit. The victim alleged that Theriault assaulted him during a fight about the volume of the television and a remote control; Theriault reportedly stated that his brother wouldn’t give him the remote and then, hit him with a Cookie Monster stuffed animal. “Trevor said it hurt so he punched (the victim),” the officer reported. “Trevor said he then punched his bedroom door several times.” The officer noted that the door did not appear to be damaged. The victim denied hitting Theriault with the Cookie Monster stuff animal. Theriault was arrested, refused bail, and was held.

David Paul Venner, 50, of Raymond Road in Chester, received a summons at 2:25 p.m. on Dec. 16, for driving after revocation or suspension and following too closely after a motor vehicle accident on Manchester Street. His license was suspended on March 25, 2014, for default child support.

Alise Diane Paraskeva, 28, of Elmwood Avenue in Manchester, was arrested at 1:52 p.m. on Dec. 16, on a conduct after an accident charge from Dec. 11, on South State Street. She’s due in court on Jan. 26.

Ryan Michael Smith, 25, of Queen Street in Boscawen, was arrested at 11:18 a.m. on Dec. 16, on a criminal trespass charge in in the Mennino Place Apartments on Storrs Street on Dec. 4, 2014. He’s due in court on Jan. 26.

Brendon William Pelkey, 19, of Merrimack Street in Penacook, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. on Dec. 16, on possession of drugs and possession of controlled drugs charges. An officer on North State Street reportedly saw a Nissan Sentra drifting back and forth within its travel lane so he pulled the vehicle over outside of the cemetery. The officer approached the window and spoke with the driver, Pelkey, who allegedly smelled like marijuana. Pelkey reportedly had difficulty finding the vehicle’s registration and had bloodshot eyes. A second officer reportedly saw a glass pipe in the pocket of the front passenger door and Pelkey was arrested. During vehicle inventory, the second officer allegedly found a pipe, grinder, and two burnt marijuana cigarettes inside a pack of Marlboros. He’s due in court on Jan. 26.
