Convicted Massachusetts Drug Dealer Arrested After Chase, Crash: NH State Police Roundup
Childlove Gelin of Springfield, MA, was arrested on warrants, several charges in Roxbury Saturday. Plus, blotters from around New Hampshire.

CONCORD, NH — A convicted drug dealer from Massachusetts and Vermont, who was arrested on a gun possession charge in New York earlier this year, was arrested by New Hampshire State Police after a chase and crash in Roxbury on Saturday.
Around 9:15 p.m., a trooper patrolling and running speed enforcement on Route 9 in Sullivan saw a vehicle speeding in the westbound lane. The trooper attempted to stop the SUV, but the driver refused to stop and a chase ensued, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for state police said. During the chase, the trooper accused the driver of approaching speeds of close to 90 mph.
“Moments later,” she said, “the trooper located the vehicle on Route 9 with heavy damage. It was discovered that the vehicle had struck a utility pole.”

The trooper accused two people of fleeing into the woods near a river. Other troopers, as well as Keene police, arrived to assist in the search. Lagace said the passenger of the SUV emerged from the woods a short time later and was taken to Cheshire Medical Center with minor injuries.
More than six hours later, around 3:30 a.m., the driver of the vehicle, Childlove Gelin, 31, of Springfield, MA, was found on Route 9 near the Granite Gorge. A check found he was wanted on two full extradition warrants out of New York City NY and Springfield MA police departments.

Gelin was taken to the hospital but arrested later on reckless conduct, criminal mischief, operating after suspension, speeding, conduct after an accident, and fugitive from justice charges, as well as an open container violation. He was held without bail and scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Keene District Court.
Lagace said additional charges were expected “pending further investigation.”
Route 9 was closed for several hours while utility companies repaired the damaged pole.
Keene police and firefighters assisted troopers.
According to reports online, Gelin is a paroled drug dealer who was convicted in 2017 of selling heroin and cocaine in Vermont in 2015 and 2016. At the time, he lived in Brattleboro, VT. Gelin was sentenced to six and half years in prison, with four years of supervision, but was released early. He was arrested on a gun possession charge in January in New York City. According to the Brattleboro Reformer, Gelin was also arrested in July 2015 after a car chase on Interstate 91, where he drove 130 mph. During the chase, he tossed 67 grams of crack cocaine out a window, a report stated. MassLive.com reported in December 2010 that Gelin, 18, and a 13-year-old, were accused of stealing an idling car from a driveway in Springfield, MA.
