Chad Albert Castille, 43, homeless in Concord was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on Dec. 27 on theft by unauthorized taking-less than $1,000 and willful concealment charges. According to an affidavit, around 4 p.m., officers were sent to the New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlets on Fort Eddy Road for a theft report. An employee at the store accused a man of taking "numerous bottles of liquor" and fleeing the store without paying for the items, heading toward Hannaford Supermarket. The officer took a description of the suspect and began searching Fort Eddy Road. At a table in the parking lot of the B.Good Restaurant, the officer spotted the suspect, later identified as Castille. As the officer began to approach him, he began to button up his coat, the affidavit said. The officer questioned the suspect who stated his name was "Aelbert Catz," he was from Jerusalem, and had been walking and hitchhiking around the state since March, the report said. Dispatch, however, did not have his name or SSI number in the police database. Another officer went to the store, got a copy of security footage, and returned to the first officer and confirmed the person in question was involved in the theft, the affidavit said. Castille was arrested and later, while trying to identify him, an officer, lieutenant, and dispatchers were able to use his alias to track down a booking photo from Virginia and confirm his identification. Castille was held on $3,000 cash bail and arraigned the next day.
