The bicyclists were riding on the sidewalk on the southern side of Loudon Road up Gully Hill traveling east when a motorcycle and sedan collided sending the motorcycle up onto the sidewalk and into the bicyclists. Witnesses first reported that the sedan was weaving in and out of traffic and the motorcycle swerved to move out of the way and collided with the motorcycle. However, other witnesses stated that it appeared as if both vehicles were racing on Loudon Road, according to posts online. The bicyclists were injured during the crash and sent to the hospital. Dubois was also sent to the hospital with critical injuries.

The day after the crash, a GoFundMe site was set up for one of the victims, William Woods, to raise money to replace his bicycle. More than $2,000 was raised. Another GoFundMe site was also created to help Dubois offset thousands of dollars in medical bills after reported head injuries and a brain bleed. A little less than $900 was raised in that fundraising effort.
Joshua Leclair of Concord was arrested that night on a reckless operation charge and released on a summons.
Dubois, according to a previous press report on Patch, was arrested in July 2011, for theft; from a building, burglary, and receiving stolen property.
