Wrong-Way Drunken Driving Arrest On I-93: NH State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — A man from Canterbury was arrested on drunken driving charges after being accused of driving the wrong way on an Interstate in Concord Sunday.

Around 12:30 a.m., New Hampshire State Police received “multiple reports” of a vehicle driving north in the southbound lanes on Interstate 93 in Concord between Exit 16 and 17, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the department, said. The vehicle was found a short time later near Mile Marker 45 in Canterbury.

The driver, Jose Galindo Mendoza, 45, of Canterbury was arrested on driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon charges as well as open container and operating without a valid license violations. He was released on bail and is due in Merrimack County Superior Court on Aug. 24.

Man Accused Of Driving 124 MPH On I-93

A man from Bethlehem was arrested on Saturday after being accused of driving 124 mph on I-9.

A trooper reported around 7:15 a.m. seeing a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze without a rear license plate on I-93 in Canterbury. The trooper accused the driver of reaching speeds of 124 while passing other vehicles in a “reckless manner,” Lagace said.

“The vehicle then took Exit 18 and (the) trooper attempted to stop the vehicle at the stop sign at the base of the off-ramp,” she said. “The vehicle took off, passing a stopped vehicle on the right. The vehicle ran the stop sign and continued westbound on West Road at a high rate of speed.”

A chase ensued, and the trooper accused the driver of continuing to drive recklessly before stopping and fleeing the scene into a house. The trooper was able to arrest the driver, Steven Seaman, 22, on disobeying an officer and reckless conduct charges, as well as, unregistered vehicle, failure to display plates, and stop sign violations. He was released on personal recognizance and is due in Concord District Court later.

Troop D troopers were assisted by the special enforcement unit, utilizing aircraft, the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, and Canterbury police.

Jose N. Reyes, 44, of Salem was arrested at 10:36 p.m. on June 16 on driving under the influence, DUI-second offense, negligent driving, two driving after revocation or suspension charges, and a lane control violation. He was arrested after an incident in Londonderry.

Jerry Janvier, 37, of Taunton, MA, was arrested at 3:27 a.m. on June 16 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and a lane control violation after an incident in Londonderry.
