Mirsky’s List: Strongest Candidates-President 2020: Beto Returns

Exeter, New Hampshire – This is Attorney David Mirsky reporting from Exeter, the Revolutionary Capital of New Hampshire, where the 2020 Presidential race remains firmly fixed in our minds, despite, or maybe because of, all of the horrible happenings of recent days. It began with our president, Donald Trump is his name, railing in public against some elected members of the US Congress who happen, like many of us, to come from ancestry outside the lower 48 states, saying to “send them back.” This was outrageous but it didn’t stop there. The next thing our president did was to call the entire city of Baltimore (home of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team which once was the team of that great duo of Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson, two of the greatest baseball players in history), he called Baltimore a rat-infested very bad place and implied that the people of Baltimore, and of other great United States Cities, were somehow subhuman. You might excuse these rantings as the rantings and ravings of a lunatic, but you can’t, because the man is our President. And the result of President Trump’s rantings and ravings was that crazy people with automatic weapons were made even crazier, and many many innocent people, men women and children, were murdered, in a mass shooting in the City of El Paso, Texas; and the shooting in El Paso was soon followed by more shooting, because other shooters see these things on TV and decide that they too can gain a lot attention very quickly; and so more senseless shooting occurred in the heartland of the United States, in Dayton, Ohio.

And so now those of us who are aware and awake and thinking about other things besides always getting our own way in political matters, I would say that is ALL of us, are now worried there will be more shootings, and the only certainty for the American people right now is that President Donald Trump will do nothing about that, his only concern still focusing solely like a compulsive Selfie on Himself.

But I digress . . . Because this is not about Donald Trump, it’s about America, and what we all can do to seek out other alternatives, in our lives as Americans, to these mass shootings, perhaps by having one or more alternative choices of people to vote for in the 2020 Presidential Election, and particularly for us here in Exeter, in the New Hampshire Primary, which is coming up soon. Sooner than you think.

If you don’t like my list, as stated below, if you think your candidate should be higher up on the list, then work harder. Whichever candidate you are supporting, I guarantee you are not working hard enough.

If your candidate of choice is not on this list, then get that candidate to visit the Town of Exeter, New Hampshire, or the City of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, or Hampton, New Hampshire, get them to visit somewhere nearby so that those of us in Exeter can see these candidates and hear them speak. Then your candidate will have a chance. In any event, here is my List:

1. Beto O’Rourke, former City Councilor of El Paso, Texas; former US Congressman representing El Paso; and previously superb candidate for the US Senate in Texas who almost defeated current US Senator Ted Cruz by achieving over 4 million votes in the Conservative State of Texas. Beto’s City of El Paso was hit by that shooter, who shall remain nameless, and we should all be supporting Beto now and recognize that he speaks from the heart, cares about you and me, and is a brilliant man who rides a mean skateboard and will make a great US President.

2. Cory Booker, US Senator from New Jersey; former Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, where he entered into a City in Crisis and went straight to work in addressing problems of economic distress, community distress, and racial injustice. Cory Booker lives in Newark. If you are living in economic distress or if you are being subjected to racial injustice, Cory Booker knows where you are coming from and how you feel, and he is ready and able to help you. I have heard that you can see and hear Cory Booker at the Hampton Democrats’ picnic on August 17.

3. Elizabeth Warren, US Senator from Massachusetts; Harvard Law School Professor specializing in the most complex economic and business-oriented fields of law. Elizabeth Warren, if nominated, will dominate and negate Donald Trump. She knows who Donald Trump is and she is not afraid of him in any way. Elizabeth Warren understands what it means to be without money, and almost without hope. But she is never without hope. You can count on Elizabeth Warren. Robert F. Kennedy’s grandson has endorsed her for President in 2020. That means something.

4. Joe Biden, former US Vice President; former longtime US Senator. Look, we all love Joe Biden, Republicans and Democrats; Independents and Non-Voters. Everyone loves Joe Biden. But we need to see more of him to know whether he is up to this. Why do we love Joe Biden? Because Joe Biden is a wise old American hero; Joe Biden is a kind, compassionate, very very strong individual. Joe Biden has faced and conquered some of the most horrible things a human being can face, and he can certainly defeat the strange and horrible entity likely to be his opponent in the general election in November 2020. 5. Kamala Harris, US Senator from California; former San Francisco District Attorney; former Attorney General of the State of California. I am looking forward to her visit to Portsmouth this coming September. Many important people in New Hampshire and in this country believe in Kamala Harris. I have faith in Kamala Harris. She is a brutal cross-examiner in the US Senate Committee Hearing setting. The least Kamala Harris should become is our next United States Attorney General. Many believe the US Presidency may be the right job for her.

6. Pete Buttigieg, Mayor of South Bend Indiana. Consistently over the past several months I have been hearing from many strong-minded individuals here in New Hampshire that “Mayor Pete” should be President. Because South Bend is not a very big place, and is significant mainly as the location of the University of Notre Dame, I believe that Mayor Pete is receiving support at this time because he has great poise, a very distinguished voice and manner, and because he served our country with distinction in the military.

And that is my list for today. If you have other candidates in mind, please do not be swayed by what I have written, just get to work!
