Mass. man arrested in Keene on drug, other charges

At around 10:30 a.m. on July 3, New Hampshire State troopers were called to Route 10 in Swanzey for a traffic violation where the driver of a Nissan Maxima allegedly failed to stop.

“The driver of the Nissan drove off an embankment on Route 101 crossing over Martel Court, ultimately colliding with vehicles in the parking lot of Norm’s ski and bike shop,” according to Trooper Thomas Byrne. “The driver of the vehicle fled into the woods behind the business.”

A K9 unit – Storm – was called in to assist and reportedly located the suspect hiding in the woods. He allegedly gave a false name but later, the trooper was able to determine him to be Gregory Scott, 26, of Springfield, MA.

“Scott was found to be in possession of a substantial amount of U.S. Currency,” the trooper alleged.

Scott was arrested and charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, two counts of disobeying an officer, driving after suspension, four counts of conduct after an accident, and possession of a controlled drug. He is being held on $100,000 cash bail.

State police are asking anyone with information about Scott to contact Trooper Thomas Byrne, Troop C, at 603-358-3333.
