Nashua Man Indicted On Child Rape, Fondling Charges: Hillsborough County Superior Court Indictments

Plus: Lowell man accused of tampering with witnesses; NY man indicted on theft charges; Merrimack man accused of fondling a teenage girl.

NASHUA, NH — A grand jury in Hillsborough County recently indicted the people listed below.

Steven Cooper, 50, of Fifth Street in Nashua, on two felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child or incompetent and seven felony counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. He was accused of raping, sexually assaulting, and fondling two girls under the age of 16 between Aug. 1, 2020, and Aug. 7, 2021, and March 20, 2022, and March 19, 2024, in Nashua.

Elvin Cruz, 34, of Massmills Drive in Lowell, Massachusetts, on four felony counts of tampering with witnesses and informants. He criminally threatened a witness on May 28 and Aug. 10, 2025, told her on Feb. 4, 2025, to write an affidavit stating she lied to police, and attempted to induce her to testify falsely by telling her to recant her statements in an affidavit on Jan. 27, 2025, in Nashua, according to the indictments.

Deon Dirton, 43, of Howard Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, on two felony theft by unauthorized taking charges. He was accused of acting in concert with another to steal more than $1,500 worth of cellphones, Apple watches, and other merchandise from Best Buy in Nashua on Jan. 3 and Feb. 13, 2025.

Antwone Francis, 36, of Congress Street in Manchester, on controlled drug act; acts prohibited-buprenorphine and felon in possession of a deadly weapon charges, both felonies. He was accused of possessing metallic knuckles and the drug on Sept. 14, 2025, in Nashua. Previously, according to the indictment, Francis was convicted of acts prohibited in February 2019 in Hills North.

Scott M. Frost, 25, of no fixed address in Nashua, on two felony possession of crack cocaine charges on Feb. 7 and June 17, 2025, in Nashua. Previously, according to the indictment, he was convicted on a controlled premises where drugs are kept charge in Merrimack County Superior Court in October 2022.

Joshua Green, 52, of South Main Street in Brookline, on a felony criminal threatening charge. He was accused of attempting to place a police chief in fear of injury by pointing a loaded crossbow at him on Sept. 22, 2025, in Brookline.

Christopher Hayes, 43, of Burns Hill Road in Hudson, on theft by unauthorized taking and controlled drug act; acts prohibited-crack cocaine charges, both felonies. He was accused of stealing another person’s property in Hudson after being convicted twice before on theft charges in June 2021 and August 2023 in Hills South. Hayes, according to the indictment, was also previously convicted on a drug possession charges in Hills South in June 2018.

Keith Herbert, 48, of Main Street in Brookline, on four felony counts of duty to report-subsequent charges. He was accused of failing to complete his sex offender registration in Nashua on May 30, 2025, Herbert is a sex offender due to an aggravated felonious sexual assault conviction in June 2008. Douglas Hugh, 51, of Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, on a felony felonious sexual assault charge. He was accused of fondling a teenage girl, who was 13 or older but under 18, and he had a position of authority over, between March 1 and March 31, 2025, in Merrimack.

Christopher Kordas, 51, of Chestnut Street in Manchester, on a felony criminal threatening-deadly weapon charge. He was accused of pointing a gun at another person on Sept. 12, 2025, in Nashua.
