Six Arrested at NH Sobriety Checkpoint

New Hampshire State Police, Salem Police check nearly 200 vehicles on Route 28 last night and this morning.

A sobriety checkpoint held on Route 28 in Salem last night and this morning netted six people, five from Massachusetts, on various charges.

Arrested were:

  • Cesar Delacruz age 27 of Lawrence Massachusetts, possession of a controlled drug and open container of alcohol.
  • Vickyana Rios, 25, of Methuen, MA, was arrested for operating without a valid license.
  • Mark Marchand, 26, of Lawrence, MA, was arrested for operating without a valid license.
  • Cristian Jose Cruz, 23, of Lawrence, MA, was arrested for possession of a controlled drug, and operating without a valid license.
  • Kimberly Piccirillo,19, of Methuen, MA, was arrested for transportation of a controlled drug.
  • Mathew Kinney, 18, of Salem, was arrested for possession of a controlled drug.

Between 9 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2015, and 3 a.m. this morning, state troopers and Salem Police officers stopped 191 vehicles during the checkpoint.

In a statement, Sgt. Steve Callinan of the NHSP said, “The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Robert Quinn and the Salem Police Chief Paul Donovan as well as the officers of their departments consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire’s roadways.”
