Here's How 13 NJ School Districts Will Make Up Snow Days

NJ school districts will have to make up for a lot of snow days. Some have found creative ways to do it. But are summer days in danger?

Your school calendar wasn't just wrecked by three nor'easters in March. A sporadic string of storms stretching back to early December could do damage to your spring break – and more.

At least 13 districts have outlined plans for making up for time lost because of snow days (see below). Some school districts are tacking school days in June and reducing the length of everybody's favorite time of year – summer – to meet the minimum number of school days required.

The state Department of Education requires public schools to be in session for at least 180 days per year. Some districts have lost as many as 7 days because of snow. Manchester, for instance, may add one day to the end of the year.

While many school districts are still deciding on a course of action, 13 school districts have made a decision that could provide some insight into how your town may act to make up for time lost.
