New Member Takes Oath For Moorestown School Board
Mark Snyder was elected to the Moorestown Public School District Board of Education in November. He was sworn in on Jan. 7.
MOORESTOWN, NJ — The Moorestown Public School District Board of Education welcome its newest board member this week, and reportedly elected a new vice president.
Mark Snyder was elected to the board in November. He defeated incumbent Maurice Weeks to win the seat in a four-person race for three seats. Incumbents Sandra Alberti and Mark Villanueva were re-elected to the board.
Snyder was sworn into office on Jan. 7, the Moorestown Sun reports. Alberti was re-elected to her role as board president, but Caryn Shaw was elected to the role of vice president, a role that had been held by David Weinstein.

In 2017, Alberti was nominated board president after Kathy Goldenberg was appointed to the State Board of Education. Villanueva was appointed the same night, and elected to fill the remainder of the seat later that year.
Snyder has a background in instructional design, educational assessment and social science research. He coaches his daughter's flag football team and says he is "fundamentally a teacher at heart." Read more here: New Member Elected To Moorestown School Board
