• Don't set up your own vigilante 'stings,' cops caution after N.J. video goes viral (nj.com subscription) — Teaneck police are warning residents not to run their own online predator "stings" after a viral video showed private citizens confronting a man they believed was meeting a minor at the Teaneck IHOP. Authorities say such actions can jeopardize investigations and safety, and urge anyone who suspects child exploitation to contact Teaneck police or Crime Stoppers instead of intervening themselves.

• Brawl at N.J. pool club draws 6 police departments, sparks outcry from mayor: 'Absolute embarrassment' (nj.com subscription) — Teaneck officers were among six Bergen County police departments called in to help break up a large late-night brawl at the New Milford Swim Club, where 200–300 people attended an unauthorized pool party. New Milford's mayor blasted the event as an embarrassment and a safety concern, and officials are continuing to investigate how the party was allowed on borough property.
