Bergen County Martin Luther King Jr. Monument Committee to Unveil, Dedicate MLK Monument Oct. 12

The unveiling and dedication will be held on the Hackensack River Pathway as it crosses the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monument Committee of Bergen County will unveil and dedicate the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monument on Sunday, Oct. 12 on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University at 3 p.m.

All are welcome to the presentation of the life-size bronze monument.

The unveiling and dedication will be held on the Hackensack River Pathway as it crosses the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University at 140 University Plaza Drive in Hackensack.

The committee and the community will share stories and information about the historical journey of building a monument in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in northern New Jersey.

The mission of the Bergen County Martin Luther King Jr. Monument Committee has been to commemorate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for the residents of the State of New Jersey.

This organization is spearheaded by Co-Chairpersons, Arnold E. Brown and Theodora S. Lacey, both lifelong community activists.
