Elmwood Park Man Charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of Minor, Tries to Commit Suicide
Police arrived at the suspect's home to find the Elmwood Park man had tried to take his life after learning his victim reported him.

An Elmwood Park man was arrested Sept. 23 on charges of aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Emiliano Seda, 45, was arrested and charged after allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a 12-year-old female, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
The victim alleges Seda engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with her on numerous occasions during the past year and reported it to Elmwood Park police. After investigating, Special Victims Unit detectives and Elmwood Park police officers arrived at Seda’s residence only to see his motionless body on the bathroom floor through a window.

Police forced entry into the house and found Seda, who was aware that the victim reported him to police, had tried to commit suicide. Seda was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center and was charged with the crimes once he was stabilized.
Seda was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Bail was set at $300,000.00 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his passport as a condition of bail. Seda was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
