November is Senior Pet Month

November is National Senior Pet Month.  Whenever there are cute kittens around, these lovely older gals and gentlemen tend to get overlooked.  But senior  cats have many advantages. They’ve already learned to use their scratching posts and litter boxes. They’ve been spayed/neutered.  They’re still full of life, but less mischievous and unpredictable.  Mostly, they have plenty of love still to give and will repay you with many years of head butts, cheek rubs and purrs.  Here are two currently in our system that need new homes.

Smudge lost his parents to a nursing home, and is being temporarily cared for by a family who can only keep him in a small bathroom!  Smudge is super-affectionate, “hugging” you with his paws.  He’s up to date on shots and ready to snuggle.  This lovely older boy would make a wonderful companion to an older family.

Kitcha’s mother passed away, and she’s been living in the empty house while it’s on the market.  A kind neighbor comes in to care for this sweet older gal, but Kitcha clearly needs a new hiome.  She still likes to play with her laser light, and would be perfect for a senior.
