Oritani Bank Grants $10,000 to Visiting Homemaker Health Aide Service of Bergen County Foundation Helping the Elderly in Bergen County Receives Much Needed Funding

The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, headquartered in the Township of Washington, recently granted $10,000 to the CHEER Program which is one facet of the Visiting Homemaker Home Health Aide Service of Bergen County, located in Hackensack. This program focuses on helping the frail and isolated elderly in Bergen Country remain in their homes.

Seniors are provided with caregivers to help them with their grocery shopping, laundry, running errands and simple companionship. The CHEER Program helps ensure that these elderly seniors are receiving proper nutrition and a safe place to live at a reasonable cost. Another benefit of this program is that it hires caregivers in need of non-skilled jobs and from a low-income bracket.

“In today’s society, everyone has such busy lives that the safety and well-being of senior citizens around us is often overlooked,” said Kevin J.
