OritaniBank Charitable Foundation Grants $20,000 to Township of Washington First Responders Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Corps Receive Needed Funds

The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation recently announced that it has awarded two $10,000 grants to the Township of Washington first responders. A $10,000 grant was awarded to the volunteer fire department and another $10,000 grant was awarded to the volunteer ambulance corps. The grants were awarded as part of the Foundation’s annual “thank you” to volunteer emergency service providers.    

“These funds will be used to purchase a new thermal imaging camera to be used at fires to locate trapped victims and firefighters,” said the Township of Washington Volunteer Fire Chief Jamie Powell. “This grant will help us save lives.”

 “These funds will help to provide additional training to volunteers and purchase additional needed supplies,” said the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps Captain Richard Miras.

“We would like to thank all of these volunteers for the services that they provide to the residents of the Township of Washington,” said Kevin J. The OritaniBank Charitable Foundation also awarded an additional $26,000 in grants to volunteer fire department and ambulance corps in towns where Oritani Bank has branch-banking offices.  These towns include:  Bergenfield, Cliffside Park, Emerson, Fairview, Hackensack, Ho-Ho-Kus, New Milford, Palisades Park, Park Ridge, Ramsey, Ridgefield, Ridgefield Park, Teaneck, Woodcliff Lake and Upper Montclair.
