Finally, the weather is starting to break and soon spring will be sprung. I am sure everyone is looking in the mirror thinking, “what a long winter it was and how did I get this bulge above my belt?” Sorry, I’m thinking out loud!
The truth is we have all had our struggles controlling our weight. But there is an evolutionary tale that explains the problem. Years ago our great-grandparents consumed heavy foods that were fried or baked—not only because of the taste but also because of the high calories. Many of our great -grandparents spent most of their working lives doing hard labor. Even with the industrial revolution men and women pushed and pulled their way to some sort of economic stability. Food that was high in calories sustained them through a long working day.
Unfortunately for us, we are still eating the same way our great -grandparents did. However, ours meals tend to be a bit fancier. Today, for most of us, work is less physically intense. We can’t continue to eat the same way our ancestors did.

Make smarter food choices, eat more colorful foods, eat lighter and eat less. Remember, even if it is panko-crusted, coconut shrimp, it is a fancy name for breaded and fried.
