On Sunday Dec 15, the Westwood UNICO Chapter held its annual Christmas party at the The Florentine Gardens in Rivervale NJ. The afternoon party was well attended, with approximately 135 adults and children enjoying an Italian buffet of delicious hot and cold foods. Raffles and tricky-tray auctions of merchandise baskets kept the attention of the adults, and the children enjoyed the music provided by a DJ. But the highlight of the day for all was a visit by Santa Claus (a.k.a. Gerry Heytink, District IX Governor.) After giving gifts to all the children, Santa bid all a Merry Christmas and sped back to the North Pole, leaving the children to dance to the songs of the DJ and revel in the excitement of musical chairs. The party was a great success for the Westwood chapter, as it raised funds to help with planned charitable efforts in 2014.
