The Westwood chapter of UNICO National sponsored its annual food drive at Shoprite Supermarket, Hillsdale NJ on May 17, 2014, to help support the local Helping Hands Food Pantry. The Pantry, located in the Hillsdale United Methodist Church on Hillsdale Ave., is administered by members of various local community & religious congregations, and serves all local residents in the community who need assistance. Westwood UNICO members collected food and cash contributions from donors and forwarded all proceeds to the Food Pantry. Several students from Pascack Valley H.S. as well as friends of members assisted the chapter advertise the event at the supermarket that day.
UNICO National is a nationwide non-political and non-sectarian service organization whose membership consists exclusively of US citizens of Italian heritage (through birth or marriage) having good character and reputation. UNICO engages in a wide variety of charitable, educational and cultural activities.
