Whiz Kid: Maya Harpaz

Key to Awesomeness: An elementary-age student, Maya Harpaz is already a sensation on stage. She has been acting with the company since kindergarten.

Harpaz cites playing the eponymous role in “Annie” as one of the highlights of her theatrical experience. “I wore one of the costumes that was used on Broadway,” she related. Harpaz especially enjoyed singing “It’s a Hard Knock Life.”

She also relished playing the role of Brigitta in “The Sound of Music.” Harpaz sang the tunes “Do-Re-Me” and “So Long, Farewell.”

Harpaz helped to market the company’s production of “Cinderella,” by distributing posters to local merchants.

At school, she particularly enjoyed the assignment of composing her own version of a fairy tale. “I wrote the longest story,” Harpaz noted with a touch of pride.
