Montauk Featured In New Showtime Series 'The Affair'

A new series on Showtime, The Affair, which aired on Sunday, Oct. 12. features scenes and references to Montauk.
The series is about βthe psychological effects of an affair between a married waitress at a Hamptons diner and a teacher who spends his summer at his in-lawsβ estate on the islandβ, according to imdb.com.

The first season was filmed almost entirely in Montauk, βshowcasing the areaβs beaches, dunes, and slower-paced way of life,β according to an article on jaunted.com.

The show prominently featured three Montauk landmarks, listed on jaunted.com:
- The Lobster Roll - This famous Long Island diner on Montauk Highway is renamed βLunchβ in the seriesβ pilot and is the location where Noah (West) and Alison (Wilson) - who eventually become entangled in the affair - first meet.
- Deep Hollow Ranch - The Deep Hollow Ranch is also featured in The Affair as Coleβs (Jackson) familyβs place. In real life, the ranch is owned by the Keogh family who welcome visitors to ride their trials or take an educational tour.
- Montauk Point Lighthouse - Montaukβs most iconic spot, the Montauk Point Lighthouse, also plays a role in the show. The national historic landmark and museum is open year-round for tours.
