Police: Drunk Farmingdale Man Drove With Toddler and Stroller Lodged Underneath Vehicle
The driver struck a pedestrian who was pushing his grandson in a stroller in Bethpage Saturday night, police said.

A drunk Farmingdale driver struck a 69-year-old pedestrian who was pushing his 2-year-old grandson in a stroller in Bethpage Saturday night, police said.
Anthony R. Valenti, 56, of 209 Birch Ave., continued to drive his 2013 Nissan Murano eastbound for one block with the stroller and toddler lodged underneath the vehicle, police said. A passerby removed the child and stroller from underneath the vehicle at the corner of N. Windhorst Avenue.
The child received minor injuries to his head, face and arm while the grandfather suffered an injury to his left foot and ankle, along with neck and back pain, police said. They were transported to a local hospital where they received treatment for their injuries.

Valenti is charged with two counts of third degree assault, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and fail to use due care to avoid a pedestrian.
The vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check.

He will be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
