Adam Schleichkorn helps North Shore Animal League cats find a home with viral video.

A Long Island native is using his viral video expertise to help North Shore Animal League cats find homes.

Adam Schleichkorn’s video, “Cats Doing Cat Stuff…For Adoption,” was posted to YouTube Tuesday and garnered more than 23,000 hits within one day.

“Adopting a cat is supposed to be a joy, so I felt like it was time to put a much-deserved positive spin on it,” wrote Schleichkorn, a native of Huntington and current Long Beach resident.

Schleichkorn took his idea for the video to Beth Ostrosky Stern, wife of radio personality Howard Stern and advocate for animal adoption. Stern put him in touch with officials at North Shore Animal League.

Besides the kittens, these are all cats that have been there for a while, so even if we could get a couple adopted, it would be a huge step in the right direction,” Schleichkorn said, according to The Huffington Post.

Schleichkorn, who heads the video department for Melville’s Driven Local, is responsible for several other viral hits. He released a comedy video of The Muppets lip synching to The Beastie Boys in August that now has more than 1,200,000 hits on YouTube. The Muppets then appeared in another of Schleichkorn’s lip dubs to Naughty By Nature’s “Hip Hop Hooray” in November.
