Cops: Long Beach Man Shot Person in Parking Lot

Incident happened Friday night in Long Beach, cops said.

A Long Beach man faces attempted murder charges for shooting someone with a shotgun at 10 p.m. Friday night, according to Long Beach Police.

Lachance Bryant, 30, was in the back parking lot of a Long Beach Boulevard business near East Chester Street when he shot an unidentified victim in the chest, cops said.

The injured victim ran to Long Beach Boulevard where a Long Beach Fire Department truck was passing by, cops said. Firefighters rushed to help the victim and brought them to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, police said.

LBPD detectives and Hempstead Police located Bryant in Hempstead on Sunday. He was taken into custody and arraigned Monday morning on charges of second-degree attempted murder, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He also faced a New York State felony absconder parole warrant.

Bryant is due back in court April 23.
