Nor'easter to Bring Heavy Rain, Wind to Miller Place-Rocky Point

National Weather Service issues hazardous weather outlook.

A nor’easter may dump three inches of rain on Long Island starting Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region for the storm, which will also bring strong winds to the island.

A slow moving coastal storm will affect the region Monday night through Tuesday night with a bit of wintry precip...But mainly heavy rain and strong winds. Although there is still some uncertainty on timing ...intensity...and track of this low pressure system...There is a low potential for flash flooding on Tuesday.

  • Tonight- Mostly clear, with a low around 24. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Northeast wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
  • Monday- A chance of rain or drizzle after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Northeast wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Monday Night- Rain likely, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 41 by 1am. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northeast wind 9 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday- Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 44. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. Breezy, with a north wind 20 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
  • Tuesday Night- Rain. Low around 38. Breezy, with a north wind 17 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
