Armed Man Ties Up Workers, Robs Long Island Women's Clothing Store
The robbery, similar in nature to at least six others on Long Island over the past few months, occurred Tuesday night, police say.

Employees at a women’s clothing store in Carle Place were tied up during an armed robbery Tuesday night, the latest in a string of similar incidents across Long Island over the past few months.
According to police, a man wearing a bright green traffic vest and handling a broom, entered Destination Maternity, located at 120 Glen Cove Road, pretending to be a cleaner at about 8:30 p.m. After turning around with his face covered by a mask, he displayed a handgun to two female employees and ordered them to open the cash register and safe, police said.
The man forced the employees into the back of the store and bound their hands behind their backs with plastic zip ties, police said. After taking an undetermined amount of money from the store’s cash register and safe, the robber fled in an unknown direction, police said.
