Man arrested Friday night in New Jersey.

A 41-year-old Patchogue man faces more than 20 charges after authorities say he posed as a federal agent before police in New Jersey found his car loaded with drugs and weapons.

According to Palisades Interstate Parkway Police, Steven Greytak was sitting in his 2008 Chevy Avalanche in the parking lot of a gas station in Englewood Cliffs when police on routine patrol noticed the vehicle had a defective tail light.

When two officers approached the vehicle, they noticed “a strong odor of marijuana” coming from the car, police said.

When police asked Greytak for identification, he told the officers he was a federal agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The officers were able to see numerous law enforcement paraphernalia such as shirts and vehicle markings, police said.

When the officers searched Greytak outside of the vehicle, they found a switchblade knife as well as a small container with various types of pills, police said.
