Lag B'Omer Picnic at Y JCC Thursday

In honor of a joyous holiday, the Mid-Island Y JCC is sponsoring a pizza picnic for moms and their young kids Thursday evening. It's one of many special events around town today.

Thursday's options include:

1. The , in honor of Lag B'Omer, holds a pizza picnic for moms and kids ages 2-5. The event is at 6:30 p.m. and will include kite making, games and songs. Non members: $25.2.

2. There's lots to do at the  Thursday, like a webinar on the latest in interview techniques with Barbara Safani. The 4 p.m. session is open to all. For more, check out our "events" listings or the library's web site.

3. On Monday,  put new schedules in place to accommodate summer track and signal work. Generally, mid-day trains are the only ones impacted. See our story on the changes here.

4. It's Thursday, meaning there's a town-sponsored luncheon for seniors at noon at the . Suggested donation: $2.
