For their hard work and dedication to fine tuning their craft, several Port Jefferson Middle School musicians were recognized by the Board of Education with certificates on April 14.
The seventh and eighth-grade musicians all participated in the annual SCMEA Festival on March 14 and 15 after receiving high marks at the New York State School Music Association Solo Evaluation Festivals, along with recommendations from their music teachers.
“These students are musical leaders and make us very proud,” said Michael Caravello, director of music and fine arts.
